This is the door of the neglected
Morton house just around the corner from the gallery. It is waiting to
be restored before it no longer can be. The Historical Society has a
old photo of the mansard roofed building in it’s glory days with a two
story porch, the second level without a roof and open to the sun. Both
were filled with women in long dresses and men in suits. The house was
a fitting setting for the joyous gathering. With sadness we all watch
year-by-year as this magnificent building is allowed to deteriorate.
Will it be saved before it’s too late?
